During this time of self-quarantine/physical distancing I have spent a lot more time playing records at home, some I’ve documented on IG (@vinyl_g). Which also means I've spent more money on records than I have before the pandemic. I noticed I was listening to more music from past decades for comfort and perspective on the times we’re living through. I enjoy experiencing entire albums new and old, with little intermissions in between sides of the record. I like the tangibility of physical media, from the record itself to the artwork on the cover, bonus if it's a gatefold. Good records tell a story and can take the listener out of their everyday by painting a sonic picture in the mind. Long live the album.
